Full Library of Episodes Returning Soon!
Due to some issues with our podcast hosting platform, we have lost a good deal of our episode library. I have uploaded one season so far and hope to restore the full library back as soon as I can.

“Let’s Start a Podcast!”
Not Your Forte podcast began in September of 2019 when Eric reached out to Dr. Payne with an idea to try and help out the collegiate music education community. While there are many phenomenal resources, including podcasts, available for music educators, we believed there was not as much focused towards helping prepare the next generation of teachers to be successful and get the most out of their college experience. After a time of planning out episodes, acquiring the proper equipment and learning the in’s and out’s of how to run a podcast, we released our first episode and haven’t looked back since.
Not Your Forte currently spans two seasons and over twenty episodes that are available on every major podcast platform and maintains an active YouTube channel. Highlights include interviews with a variety of master educators such as Dr. Matthew Arau, Frank Troyka, Dr. Mike Raiber and more! Additionally, we have had the opportunity to cover topics about your typical undergraduate classes of Music Theory, Aural Skills as well as topics outside of the classroom including discussions on Mental Health or Getting your First Job.
Not Your Forte plans to continue to provide a resource for music education students and music educators for years to come and hope you all follow us on this journey!
